Arise

Sources of our Baggages

From our past experiences due to events that happened in our lives, our baggages may include fear, anxiety, confusion, sadness, grief, anger, frustration, guilt and shame, low self-esteem, self-curse, self-vow, self-condemnation, self-hate, loneliness, timidity, bullying, manipulation, domineering , critical spirit, finger-pointing, oppression, suppression, envy, jealousy, crowded thoughts, wandering thoughts, depression, insomnia, suicidal thoughts, self-mutilation and many others.

It could also come from the sin of our ancestors, our sin, and unforgiveness toward ourselves, toward others, even toward God that actually hinder our spiritual growth.

The adjectives are actually spirits that came in as a result of accidents, separation, divorce, conflict, violence, anger, murder etc. These spirits intrude into our temple without our knowledge and these are the negative emotions that we don’t desire and in order to drive them out, first of all, we must know there are such things.

To be able to drive them out effectively, we must humble ourselves and acknowledge our struggles first of all, our poverty, our weakness and truly come to God honestly and say ‘Lord, I need Your help.’ This is the basis that in humility we come and acknowledge that we can’t do it ourselves. We need the Holy Spirit.
