Let us ARISE !

Before we begin, let us commit this time to God.

Prayer:

Father in heaven, we thank you for gatherings us here today. We acknowledge that it is You who called us out of darkness into your marvellous light. For You have redeemed us with the blood of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and clothe us with Your glory. Through Your Son, you gave us back the authority over things of this world. Forgive us Father for we have failed to exercise this authority due to our ignorance, fear and unbelief. We have been living our lives in less than victorious way. As a result, we are saddled with much burden and pain. We now ask Your Holy Spirit to strengthen and embolden us as we exercise this authority to remove our baggages and sin, including the unclean spirits that have encroached into our spirit. In Jesus name we bind the strongman and loosen the Spirit of God in this place. We apply the blood of Jesus to sanctify and create a heavenly kingdom atmosphere. We ask that you anoint our ears so that we can hear You without hindrances. Sanctify our lips to speak Your truths to brings glory to Your name. We ask for the anointing of Jesus that breaks every yoke to be on every one of us who are present here. Thank you Father, Thank you Lord Jesus, Thank you Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Introduction:

There is a saying that “an idle mind is the devil’s playground”. We now know that ignorance is also the devil’s playground. (Ignorance is not bliss)

Many of us thought that by saying the sinners pray and going through the water baptism, it is enough to be able to walk a victorious life in this world. However, the apostle Paul taught us that a Christian life is a journey, to fight a good fight and a race to be finished. We have to progress from salvation (called), going through sanctification (by walking in faith) till we reach glorification (glorified). (Romans 8:30)

God created us in His image (different from animals or plants) and He breathed into us (gave us a spirit). So we are made of both the earth and spirit. This spiritual image was lost with the fall of man. But on the cross of Calvary, it was won back by Jesus. Now this authority has been given to us, His disciples, after His resurrection and before his ascension by the power of His name. Why then most Christians are still living in a life of sin and defeat? We walked with our face downcast and dreading every day of our lives. Do we know who our enemies really are?

John 10:15 – The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
